Devotion 1 of 2: Jer 15

In this chapter we see what God’s severe punishment for Judah will be like (v.1-9), and we also see God’s promise to save Jeremiah as he pleads for help against the adversity he is facing from the Jews (v.10-21).
God declares 4 forms of destruction toward Judah: death, sword, famine and captivity (v.2). One reason for these destructions is the wickedness of Manasseh, the worst king of Judah (v.4). In applying this to the endtime, our Christian organizational leaders bear a great responsibility. What they believe and teach about the endtime will affect millions of believers in their organizations. If their believers don’t prepare to face AC, but compromise instead, and take AC’s mark, they will suffer the terrible torment of fire and brimstone forever (Rev 14:9-11)!
V.15, 20-21 show Jeremiah suffered persecution from the Jews. But God said He would save Jeremiah (v.20). In the endtime, the LDC will be persecuted by the lukewarm church, which will join with AC. Let’s pray for them and witness to them, remembering that Paul was miraculously converted from persecutor to preacher!

Devotion 2 of 2: Acts 15

This chapter describes the first general council in church history, the Jerusalem Council. Its purpose was to discuss how much of the law of Moses and circumcision should be required of Gentile converts (v.3-6). The conclusion was that Gentiles should be accepted without requiring them to keep the law (v.19). This was a historic decision that forever changed the course of Christianity, steering it from Judaism to grace!
The Scripture that was used to make this decision was Amos 9:11-12, which is quoted in v.16-17. It says God will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down and restore its ruins, so that all mankind, including the Gentiles, may seek the Lord!
3 important points are: 1) The Tabernacle of David (DT) is a symbol of the church! 2) This short prophecy covers 2K years of church history, in which the glorious DT will fall down into ruins, but will be restored by God! 3) The purpose of restoring the church is to save mankind through a Last Day Revival!
Let’s understand this very, very important teaching of DT and its connection to the LDR!
