Devotion 1 of 2: 1 Thess 4
V.3-5 has a strong message, especially to men. “For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God…”
Sexual immorality has been in the human race almost from the beginning. One reason is that God has implanted a very strong sexual desire in humans so that we will seek a partner and marry, raise up children and populate the earth. If the sexual urge was not strong, humans would never marry because it’s too much of a burden and creates too many complicated problems!
So, God gave humans a strong sexual desire, but He commanded us not to fulfill that desire outside of marriage. But when people don’t believe in God, they won’t obey His commands. In the worst case scenario, they will have sexual relationship with anyone they want to.
When a person becomes the leader of a country, he has a lot of power and money. And he is famous and is looked up to by many people. Such a person will easily succumb to the temptation of immoral behavior unless he has a strong moral standard, which most often comes by having faith in the Almighty God.
One reason that God will end this world age soon is because many of the world’s leaders are immoral and corrupt. Let’s pray that they will have humility and a willingness to repent of their weaknesses and sins.

1テサ4：自由な分かち合い！
3-5節には、特に男性への強いメッセージがあります。「神のみこころは、あなたがたが聖くなることです。あなたがたが不品行を避け、各自わきまえて、自分のからだを、聖く、また尊く保ち、神を知らない異邦人のように情欲におぼれず・・・」
不品行は、人類のほぼ始まりから存在してきました。理由の1つは、神が人間に非常に強い性欲を植え付けたため、私たちはパートナーを探し、結婚し、子供を育て、地球に人口を増やすからです。性欲が強くなければ、人間は結婚しないでしょう。なぜなら、結婚は負担が大きすぎ、複雑な問題が多すぎるからです！
つまり、神は人間に強い性欲を与えましたが、結婚以外でその欲求を満たさないように命じました。しかし、人々が神を信じないとき、彼らは神の命令に従わないでしょう。最悪の場合、彼らは誰とでも性的関係を持つでしょう。
国の指導者になると、多くの権力とお金を持ちます。そして、有名になり、多くの人々から尊敬されます。そのような人は、全能の神への信仰によって得られる強い道徳基準を持っていない限り、不道徳な行動の誘惑に簡単に屈するでしょう。
神がこの世の時代をすぐに終わらせる理由の1つは、世界の指導者の多くが不道徳で腐敗しているからです。彼らが謙虚になり、自分の弱さと罪を悔い改める意志を持つように祈りましょう。
Devotion 2 of 2: Ps 139
In v.13-14a, David writes, “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made…”
There is a great debate in the world between science and faith and between evolutionists and Christians. Since Darwin developed the theory of evolution in 1859, it has grown in popularity until most of the world now believes that living things developed naturally, without the help of a creator, and gradually changed and became the millions of life forms that exist today.
I think evolution is a good explanation of living things for those who do not believe in a Creator God. But because I believe in God, I think evolution is much harder to accept and believe than believing in a Creator God. As David wrote, we humans are a very complex being. Our bodies are extremely well-designed and function miraculously well. When we examine even the smallest cell in our body, it is a wondrous mystery of hundreds of parts all working together in harmony to make just one cell thrive and function.
So, when we move to larger, more complex organs, like the eye, ear, heart, lungs, brain, etc., our minds are boggled at how complex and intricate they are, and how it’s so miraculous that such complicated organs can function, day after day, for 80 or more years!
One argument that evolutionists have not yet solved is how was the first living cell formed? There are many theories, but how life was first formed is still an unsolved mystery. For people of faith, the answer is simple: God created it. Let’s study how to answer evolutionists’ questions and how to lead them to Christ in a gentle manner.

私は、進化論は創造主である神を信じない人にとって生物のよい説明だと思います。しかし、私は神を信じているので、進化論は創造主である神を信じるよりもはるかに信じがたいと思います。ダビデが書いたように、私たち人間は非常に複雑な生命体です。私たちの体は非常によく設計されており、奇跡的にうまく機能します。私たちの体の中の最も小さな細胞を調べてみると、たった一つの細胞が繁栄し機能するために、何百もの部品が調和して働き、という不思議な神秘に気づきます。
ですから、目、耳、心臓、肺、脳など、より大きく複雑な器官に移ると、その複雑で精巧な構造に驚かされます。また、そのような複雑な器官が80年以上も毎日機能し続けるのは奇跡的な神秘です。
進化論者がまだ解明していない議論の1つは、最初の生きた細胞がどのようにして形成されたかということです。多くの理論がありますが、生命がどのようにして最初に形成されたかは、いまだに解明されていない謎です。信仰を持つ人々にとって、答えは簡単です。神がそれを創造したのです。進化論者の疑問にどう答えるか、そして彼らを穏やかにキリストに導く方法を学びましょう。
