Devotion 1 of 3: Ps 115

In v.4-8, we see that idols cannot speak, see, hear, smell, handle things, or walk! Then we see in v.8 that those who make and trust in idols are like them—spiritually, they cannot speak, see, hear, smell, handle things or walk! They are defenseless against the attacks and influence of the evil spirits that work through the idols!
That’s why it’s repeated 3 times in v.9-11 to “trust in the Lord,” and when we do, He becomes our “help and shield!” God shields us from the invisible attacks and lies that evil spirits are constantly hurling at us!
Let’s never trust or worship idols because that would open the door for evil spirits of the idols to attack us! Instead, let’s worship and trust in the Lord, because then He will become our shield to protect us against evil spirits!

Devotion 2 of 3: Rev 13

This chapter shows the 2 beasts, AC and the false prophet, who will rule over the world in the endtime. What kind of ruler will AC be? V.7b says, “And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation.” Furthermore, v.15-17 say, “…as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. …no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”
It seems from these Scriptures that AC will be a totalitarian ruler, an autocratic president, a strong-man dictator with absolute power even to kill those who don’t worship his image and cut off those who don’t take his mark! To resist his orders would mean to be harassed, imprisoned or killed—total tyranny over the world!
Where will AC come from? When we look at the world today, we can see dictatorships growing and forming alliances. The most obvious example is Russia, China, Iran and North Korea. If Russia defeats Ukraine, China may feel emboldened to invade Taiwan. President-elect Donald Trump has said he will not protect Taiwan, so some experts think it that Chairman Xi Jinping may attack Taiwan during Trump’s 4-year term in 2025-2029.
If there is a major war and the autocratic nations win, AC may arise out of that alliance, and that means the tribulation will begin. Let’s pray that the LDR will move according to God’s plan, and while AC rises in power, let’s pray the world revival will take place, leading hundreds of millions, or over 1B people to Christ!

Devotion 3 of 3: Luke 2

Jesus came to earth for the whole world. This is revealed by the 2 contrasting groups of people involved in the story of His birth as recorded in Matt 2 and Luke 2. Let’s take a look at them and their contrasts.
*The Wise Men of Matt 2・・・The Shepherds of Luke 2
*Noble class and well-educated・・・Shepherds, working class, thus uneducated
*Wealthy (Gold, frankincense and myrrh to Jesus)・・・Poor commoners
*Gentiles from the East, possibly Persia・・・Jews watching their sheep outside Bethlehem
*Were told by star and Scriptures about King of Jews・・・Were told by angels about birth of Jesus
*Were looking for the King of the Jews・・・Were looking for Savior for all people
So, Jesus came, not only for the Jews, but for the whole world, the rich and poor, the nobility and commoner, the educated and uneducated, for Israel and Japan! Let’s accept Him and introduce Him to all Japanese people.
