Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 100

Sometimes we feel overwhelmed by our problems at our work or in our homes. We might even feel God doesn’t seem to understand the difficulties we’re facing! At those times, wouldn’t it be great if we could enter God’s presence and receive new strength to continue until we breakthrough into victory?
Well, this psalm teaches us how to enter God’s presence to get the divine touch we need! How? In v.2, it says we should serve (worship) with GLADNESS and come before His presence with SINGING. Furthermore, v.4 says to enter His gates with THANKSGIVING and His courts with PRAISE and never forget to be THANKFUL to Him and BLESS His name!
Do you understand this psalm’s message? It’s saying that we don’t try to change our circumstances, but we change ourselves, our attitudes and thinking! Instead of feeling miserable, we feel glad. And instead of speaking negatively, or complaining, or talking harshly, or criticizing, or backbiting, we sing, and give thanks, and praise, and be thankful, and bless Jesus’ name!
When we do that, we will always be in God’s presence, because God dwells (is enthroned in) the praises of His people (Ps 22:3)! Let’s aim to live the Psalm 100 lifestyle in our daily life!

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 John 1

V.7 says, “For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.”
What does “Do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh” mean? It means “Do not recognize that Jesus is Christ, or the Anointed One, the Messiah and the Son of God.” It also means “Do not recognize that Christ came from heaven to earth, took on flesh and became a man, Jesus.”
Most heresies of Christianity do not confess this. They have a different interpretation of Jesus from traditional Christianity. One example is the Jehovah’s Witnesses, who believe that Jesus was the archangel Michael before He came to earth.
Islam also rejects Jesus as God, or the Son of God. They believe He was only a man. They believe that Muhammad was the greatest man in history, so they cannot permit Jesus to be above their prophet. They attack the Trinity doctrine as a belief in 3 Gods, which is blasphemous.
In the endtime, AC will no doubt give another interpretation of Jesus as less than God. And he will deceive many Christians to compromise their faith, worship his image and take his mark (Rev 13:15-17). Let’s hold on dearly to our faith confession: Jesus Christ came from heaven to earth in the flesh to die for our sins!
