Devotion 1 of 1: Isa 65

We see God contrasting between his faithful and unfaithful people in this chapter. In v.1, Gentiles are included among the faithful. But in v.2-7, God’s people, the Jews, are described as rebellious, continually provoking God to anger.
In v.8-10, God recognizes there are faithful sheep in Judah. PTL! But in v.11-12, once more, he calls out those who would not respond to his call but instead did evil. Then in v.13-16, God declares gracious blessings upon the faithful and severe judgments upon the unfaithful!
Finally, in v.17-25, we see the glorious promise of new heavens and a new earth! The ultimate fulfillment of this prophecy will be in the Millennial Kingdom, but it also applied to the Jews who returned to Judah from Babylon and rebuilt Jerusalem and the temple!
Let’s never stop praying for the peace and salvation of the Jews and the fulfillment of God’s marvelous promise to them for a Millennial Kingdom!

1 TIM 5: Free sharing!
Paul shares many practical instructions in this chapter mainly about how to treat different kinds of people in church. Here are the people he gave instructions for:
*Men, older and younger (v.1)
*Women, older and younger (v.2)
*Older widows, acceptable and not acceptable (v.3-10)
*Younger widows (v.16)
*Elders (v.17-20)
*How to handle people (v.21-22) and sicknesses (v.23)
*Observations about people’s sins (v.24), and people’s good works (v.25).
Let’s pray that we can handle many different kinds of people whom God sends to church for us to take care of! Let’s also pray that our faith will be practical and influence our behavior so we will be a testimony for Jesus.
