Devotion 1 of 2: Isa 31

This is another chapter speaking about the foolishness of Judah trusting in Egypt rather than God for help against Assyria’s attack (v.1-3).
But after Judah returns to the Lord, he graciously promises to save them and defeat Assyria (v.4-9)! This dramatic deliverance happened in 2 Kings 18-19, when 1 angel killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers in one night!
Let’s continue to pray for modern Israel’s deliverance from Satan blinding them from the Messiah and future deliverance from AC’s plans to exterminate them!

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Cor 7

In this chapter Paul is an example of a good leader who has a balance of both correcting and encouraging. The Corinthian Church had some bad behavior that Paul corrected in a previous letter he sent to them (v.8). But he didn’t do it to harm or condemn them (v.2-3). Rather, he did it in a balanced way by also boasting about them, too (v.4)! When leaders both praise and correct, it makes it easier for the correction to be accepted.
That’s what happened in Corinth! The believers received Paul’s reprimand with godly sorrow, leading them to repentance (v.9). And this produced diligence, clearing of themselves, indignation, fear, vehement desire, zeal and vindication (v.11)! Wow!
Let’s seek God to become good leaders to win many people to Christ and disciple them! And let’s also pray for our church and ministry leaders to become better and better leaders!
