Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 64
I think several verses in this psalm apply to politics. Some politicians “sharpen their tongue like a sword and bend their bows to shoot their arrows—bitter words” (v.3). Their talks often contain much false information, lies and deception.
Unscrupulous politicians also lay snares (v.5) and perfect shrewd schemes (v.6) in order to win elections. One example of such a scheme in the U.S. is called gerrymandering. It is redrawing the districts in the state to give your party an advantage to elect more representatives than the other party. Through gerrymandering, a party that receives only 40% of the votes in the state, can actually win 60-70% of the districts in that state! This is very unfair and not true democracy!
Let us not be deceived by political leaders now, or we will be deceived by the greatest liar in history—the AC!

Devotion 2 of 2: 1 Thess 4
The last 6 verses in this chapter speak about the rapture of the church. Let’s see what Paul taught about this extremely important topic, the rapture of the believers.
1) We should not be ignorant about the rapture (v.13). We should study and understand it.
2) God will bring with him (Jesus) believers who died (v.14). So Jesus will not come by himself and the angels only, but with the NT believers who have died before! The OT saints resurrected when Jesus died (Matt 27:51-53) and went to heaven at Jesus’ ascension (Eph 4:8)
3) First, the dead in Christ will arise, then those who are alive will be raptured and join them and the Lord in the air (v.15-17).
4) The rapture will not be a quiet, unnoticed event, but will happen with a shout, the voice of an archangel, and the trumpet of God (v.16)!
Let’s study the Scriptures to understand the rapture, one of the most important events in the endtime!
