Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 50
This psalm must have been shocking to the OT Jews because in it God declares that it wasn’t animal sacrifices that he desired but thanksgiving and fulfilling of promises (v.8-14).
This was a NT concept! The NT teaches that as NT priests, Christians are to offer 4 kinds of sacrifices: Good works (Heb 13:16), giving (sharing – Heb 13:16), our bodies to serve God with (Rom 12:1) and praise (Heb 13:15).
Let us fulfill our role as NT priests by offering to God these 4 kinds of sacrifices from our heart!

Devotion 2 of 2: 1 Cor 6
Paul teaches about 2 problems in this chapter: believers suing each other (v.1-11) and believers engaging in sexual immorality, probably with harlots working in pagan temples (v.12-20).
Concerning lawsuits against another believer, Paul ordered a very difficult thing—don’t sue, but rather accept being wronged (v.7)! By ordering this, Paul is showing how important maintaining the testimony of Christ is in the world! Let us do our utmost to build up the church’s testimony in Japan!
