Devotion 1 of 2: Num 21
NUM 21: Answers!
1) When Israel complained, God allowed fiery serpents to bite and kill many people (v.4-6). When we complain, evil spirits can work more in our lives to bring about curses.
2) Israel was healed and saved when they looked at the bronze serpent on the pole (v.8-9). When we look at Jesus on the cross and believe in what he did for us, we are forgiven of sin, healed of sickness and are set free from the curses that Satan is trying to inflict upon us!

Devotion 2 of 2: Num 22
NUM 22: Answers! (2/2)
1) To curse Israel (v.6). Satan wants to use trials, difficulties, etc. in our lives to discourage, curse and destroy us.
2) A) Balaam’s donkey saw the angel with his sword drawn out, so it tried 3 times to not go forward, but Balaam struck it 3 times to force it to go ahead. Finally the Lord caused the donkey to speak, and it protested against Balaam’s treatment. Then God opened Balaam’s eyes so he could see the angel. The angel told him that he would have killed him if the donkey had not stopped. So Balaam said he would return, but the Lord told him to go but not to say anything other than what God tells him to.
B) Yes, I believe the story.
C) I think if it had not happened, Balaam would have prophesied according to Balak’s desire and he would have cursed Israel. Sometimes God allows bad things to happen to us to prevent us from making a big mistake. So we should believe that all things work together for good (Rom 8:28) and be thankful in all things (1 Thes 5:18).
