Devotion 1 of 2: Acts 13
(2/2)
1) While Paul was witnessing to a Roman proconsul, a sorcerer opposed him. So Paul rebuked him and declared he would be blind! Immediately the sorcerer lost his sight and sought someone to lead him away. Being astonished at the authority of the gospel, the proconsul believed in Jesus (v.6-12)!
2) This is a prophetic picture of the LDC being given spiritual authority to judge our enemies as prophesied in Rev 11:5, “And if anyone wants to harm them (the 2 witnesses, a picture of the LDC), fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner.” We don't want to kill, but we want to show God's authority to judge evil so many will believe in Jesus!

Devotion 2 of 2: Lev 13
This chapter discusses laws concerning leprosy, a picture of sin. One characteristic of leprosy is found in v.3. If a sore on the skin turns hair white and is deeper than the skin, it is leprous.
The spiritual application is that sin brings death to our spiritual life (white hair) and is rooted deep within us (our sin nature). This makes us realize that we can’t solve the sin problem by ourselves; we need Jesus, who lived a sinless life, to become our substitute and take our punishment for us so that we can be set free from hell by acknowledging him as our Savior. Let’s share this important truth to those God leads us to!
