Devotion 1 of 2: Job 40

1) I think Job realized his foolish mistake in questioning God and decided not to complain anymore!
2) Behemoth 1) eats grass (v.15), 2) has a strong tail (v.17) and 3) lives in rivers (v.23). Crocodiles are disqualified by 1, hippopotamuses and elephants by 2. But some Bible scholars claim that v.17 should be translated, “He makes his tail stiff like a cedar…” (ESV), not “moves his tail,” and because hippopotamuses can do that, they conclude that hippos are the behemoth.
However, young-earth creationists believe that the only animals that fit all the descriptions and especially having strong tails are the long extinct dinosaurs in the plant-eating sauropods group. Two possibilities among many are the ultrasaur (18M tall, 30M long, 136 tons) and nigersaur (15M long). Modern science says dinosaurs lived about 150-70M years ago, but young-earth creationists believe dinosaurs were created in Gen 1, lived with man, were largely destroyed in the flood about 4K-10K years ago and became extinct after the flood!
I favor the hippopotamus as the behemoth, but am open to the possibility of the dinosaur, too.

Devotion 2 of 2: Heb 13

(2/2)
V.1-3 will be very important commands to remember and carry out during the LD.
V1. Our love will be tested when we are persecuted and pressured to betray non-worshipping friends and family! We will also be tested when we are betrayed by our friends and handed over to AC’s forces!
V2. And because of persecution and pressure to take the mark of the beast, we will be living underground and will need to provide housing for one another to help those escaping persecution!
V.3. And many Christians will be captured and imprisoned, so we should remember them and pray for God’s miraculous deliverance for them!
