Devotion 1 of 1: Job 35

I think the key words of Elihu in this chapter are found in v.12-16. Here is my paraphrase of those verses:
12. If man cries out in pride, God doesn’t answer.
13. And when man complains that God doesn’t answer, it’s like empty talk, so God will not listen.
14. Although you complain that he doesn’t say or do anything, he is righteous, so you must wait more.
15-16. God is not punishing you, Job, and isn’t listening to your complaints, so your words are meaningless; you don’t understand what you’re talking about!
The lesson: God never does wrong, so we should never complain about him! Our problems come from our own sins, or from Satan’s attacks!

HEB 8 sharing:
Paul is explaining how the new covenant is better than the old covenant of the law. He says the new covenant is based on better promises (v.6). God will not only give the law to us written in stone, but he will put his law in our hearts so that all of us will know God personally, and he will forgive our sins and remember them no more (v.10-12)! Let’s be thankful for the new covenant provided through Christ!
