Devotion 1 of 2: Job 31
Job had a pure and holy heart and did many good works as he testifies in this chapter (v.1-40). He even says that if he committed wickedness then he would deserve judgment (v.11)! So I believe his only failure was to not recognize Satan as the cause of his trials, but to think it was God! And that’s why he got upset with God and complained about how God was treating him for a long time over many chapters. So let’s never blame God for our problems and suffering, but only blame ourselves if we sinned, or Satan for attacking us to try to pull us away from God!

Devotion 2 of 2: Heb 3
(2/2)
In this chapter Paul compares Christ to Moses, through whom the Law was given. The Jewish Christians to whom Paul was writing were being pressured by Mosaic Jews to reject Jesus and come back to Moses and the Law, so it was important to show that Jesus was greater than Moses. He did this by picturing Moses as a house and Jesus as the builder of the house (v.1-6). Thank you, Jesus, for providing us with a covenant superior to the Law, which could not save man!
