Devotion 1 of 2: Job 28
Job realizes that wisdom is needed to solve the mystery of why he is going through so much suffering! His friends didn’t have it, and neither did he!
*In v.1-11, he illustrates wisdom as silver, gold and other precious stones, hidden deep underground.
*In v.12-19, he recognizes wisdom’s value as far above gold and other gems.
*Finally, in v.20-28, he concludes that wisdom comes from fearing the Lord and understanding comes from departing from evil!
*This is a magnificent chapter. Let’s seek wisdom as we counsel those around us!

Devotion 2 of 2: Matt 28
(2/3)
1) Although the resurrection story of Christ is almost 2000 years old, it is also very modern and applicable to society today. One reason is the prominent role that women played in it. They were the first ones who knew of Christ’s resurrection (v.5-7); they were the first ones who saw Jesus in his resurrected body (v.9-10); and also they were the ones who told the disciples that Jesus was alive (v.7)! Modern society is finally beginning to catch up to what the resurrection showed us 2000 years ago – that women are important and should be recognized and respected in society!
(3/3) 2) Another eerily modern aspect of the resurrection story is the fake news that the chief priests promoted! They wanted to deny the fact of Jesus’ body disappearing and instead spread fake news that the disciples stole it (v.11-15)! Well, their sinister plot worked, and most Jews to this day don’t believe Jesus rose from the dead.
In the U.S. presidential elections this year, I think because Donald Trump is running for president, the same fake news, scandals, violence, threats, insurrection, chaos, etc. that happened in 2020 will repeat themselves! One recent development is that the key witness to the Republicans’ years-long efforts to impeach President Joe Biden has been found to be receiving his false information from Russian intelligence officers! So Russia is interfering with the U.S.’s elections in order to get Donald Trump elected, because he cooperates with Putin and causes chaos in America’s alliances like NATO! Jesus warned of deceit in the endtime, yet many millions of Christians in the U.S. don’t understand and are supporting Trump. Let’s sharpen our senses and discern deception when it happens now, or we will be deceived by AC!
