Devotion 1 of 1: Job 20
Zophar’s condemnation of Job in this chapter is cruel and brutal! I found his words in v.7, “Yet he will perish forever like his own refuse,” to be especially vulgar. It shows that when we begin to judge and condemn others, our minds can become twisted to produce ungodly and completely wrong conclusions! Let’s seek the Lord to protect our hearts from the pollution of the flesh.
MATT 20 answers:
1) Jesus meant that James and John must go through persecution, suffering and even martyrdom.
2) They were martyred by beheading, and they didn’t worship the image of the beast or receive his mark. Let’s pray that we can be faithful to Jesus, even to the point of being beheaded for our faith!
