Devotion 1 of 2: Job 9

Job expresses his hopelessness because God is so great, and Job doesn’t stand a chance in trying to defend himself (v.2-4). We feel the same as Job when we go through a trial and don’t understand why. But there is one big difference between Job and us! In v.33, Job says he didn’t have a mediator between him and God, but we do because Jesus came 2000 years ago to be a Mediator between God and man (1 Tim 2:5)! When we are troubled, we can go to Jesus, and he will comfort and encourage us! PTL!

Devotion 2 of 2: Matt 9

(2/2)
1) A) By repenting and being forgiven of sin. Jesus declared a paralytic man’s sins were forgiven, then he healed him (v.1-8). Sin can be a cause for sickness and can also block healing (John 5:14)!
B) By faith. Jesus said a woman with a flow of blood (v.20-22) and two blind men (v.27-30) were healed through their faith.
C) By first driving out unbelief. Jesus put out of the ruler’s house the crowd who ridiculed him because they didn’t believe, then he healed his dead daughter (v.18-25).

2) Laborers who can preach the gospel, teach the Bible, shepherd (care for) people and heal every sickness (v.35-36)! If we become this kind of laborer, we will be able to reap a tremendous harvest of souls! Let’s pray to the Lord of the harvest to send us out to the harvest in Japan as this kind of laborer!
