Devotion 1 of 2: Hos 3
HOS 3: Further background of this book: Hosea prophesied to the northern kingdom about their sins just before Assyria defeated them and took them captive in 721 BC.
About this chapter, it shows Hosea reuniting with Gomer again. Let’s seek the Lord and share what he shows us or answer these questions:
1) How were Hosea and Gomer reunited? What do the circumstances indicate to you? Please use your imagination in your explanation.
2) Hosea and his wife were a picture of God and Israel. How do you think God and Israel (Northern Kingdom) were or will be reunited?
TUE, 10/31, My Devotions:HOS 3 answers:
1) Hosea bought Gomer for 15 silver shekels and 1/2 homer of barley (v.2). This shows me that Gomer was being sold, like a slave! It shows that the Baal temple priests exploited women, used them for a time, and when their usefulness dissipated, got rid of them by selling them to anyone who wanted them! What an accurate picture of how Satan abuses humans!
2) Israel never returned to their homeland, so I think this prophecy will be fulfilled at Armageddon when all the Jews who remain alive will finally recognize Jesus as the Messiah, repent and be saved! (Zech 12:10-11; 13:1, 9)

Devotion 2 of 2: John 3
Nicodemus knew Jesus was from God because of the signs that he did (v.2)! In chapter 1, v.45, Philip told Nathanael he had found the one the prophets wrote aobut, but Nathanael was skeptical (v.46). Philip just answered, “Come and see.” When N. went, Jesus told him he had no deceit, to which N. replied, How to you know me? So Jesus told him when N. was under the fig tree, J had seen him! This convinced N. that Jesus was the Son of God, the king of Israel! This is what God wants to restore the church to! Witnessing should be powerful, miraculous, and convincing to the unbelievers! Let’s believe and seek this!
