Devotion 2 of 2: Eccl 5
V.12 says, “The sleep of a laboring man is sweet…But the abundance of the rich will not permit him to sleep.” A hard-working man will sleep well, but it’s difficult for a rich man to sleep! Why? He worries that his business will go downhill, or thieves will steal his money, or a storm or drought or accident will ruin his business, or the national economy will go bad, etc., etc. There’s no end of things that could go wrong and so the worries don’t end! How much better living a life of trusting in God! It brings peace and joy!
