Devotion 1 of 2: Luke 7
1) The Pharisees looked down on John by rejecting him and his baptism (v.30) and accusing him of having a demon (v.33), while Jesus said he was more than a prophet (v.26) and no one born of a woman was greater than him (v.28)! Let’s not look down on people but try to honor them!
2) Simon the Pharisee shamed the woman by looking at her as a sinner (v.39), whereas Jesus shamed Simon by pointing out his lack of courtesy for not offering water to wash his feet, not greeting him with a kiss and not anointing his head with oil. And then Jesus honored the woman for what she did to his feet: washing them with tears, wiping them with her hair, not ceasing to kiss them and anointing them with ointment (v.44-46)! And lastly, Jesus also honored her by recognizing her abundant love (v.47), declaring her sins forgiven (v.48) and confirming her faith had saved her (v.50)! Let’s not shame people but work hard to honor them.

Devotion 2 of 2: Prov 7
This chapter tells us about two women: Wisdom (insight) (v.4) and the forbidden woman (adulteress) (v.5). If we make wisdom our sister and become intimate with insight, they will protect us from the two bad women! I want to develop a strong relationship with wisdom and insight!
