Devotion 1 of 2: 2 Chron 25
Amaziah couldn’t accept advice and he suffered greatly for it. First, he rejected the counsel of a prophet who scolded him for worshiping the idols of Edom whom he had just defeated (v.14-16). Next, he would not listen to the king of Israel’s advice about not going to war, so he fought and was soundly defeated and lost all the gold and silver in the temple (v.17-24). Several times now in 2 Chron we have seen the importance of humbly accepting sound advice! Let’s ask God to help us to do so!

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Chron 26
1) Zechariah mentored Uzziah well in the fear of God and so Uzziah prospered (v.5).
2) Uzziah was struck with leprosy because he burned incense in the temple, which only priests were allowed to do, and he also got angry when the priests rebuked him (v.16-21).
