Devotion 1 of 2: 2 Chron 21
1) Because he killed all his brothers after becoming king (v.3-4), did evil (v.6), and led Judah into idolatry and whoredom (v.13).
2) He got a severe disease in his bowels in which his bowels came out and caused great agony until his death (v.19).

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Chron 22
I want to focus on Athaliah, the mother of King Ahaziah to show the importance of a mother. She counseled her son to do evil (v.3), and this no doubt affected all of Judah to do more wickedness. When her son died after a short, 1-year reign, she destroyed all the royal family and made herself the queen of Judah (10, 12)! A godly mother can influence her children to do much righteousness, but an ungodly mother can steer her children to do much evil! Let’s pray for godly mothers in the church!
