Devotion 1 of 2: 2 Chron 11
1) The Levites left their homes and lands and moved to Judah because Jeroboam cast them out as priests and appointed his own priests to lead idol worship (v.13-15). And people from other tribes who wanted to seek the Lord also moved to Judah (v.16). As a result, Judah was strengthened (v.17).
2) If we want to be faithful to Jesus, we should be willing to give up our homes and lands and serve Jesus only. If we do that, the church will be strengthened!

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Chron 12
Sadly, Rehoboam only followed after God for 3 years (11:17), after which he abandoned God (12:1). This led to an Egyptian invasion and the loss of treasures from the temple and his house (v.9). V.14 summarizes Rehoboam’s life: He did evil, for he didn’t set his heart to seek the Lord. This is an example of a son not inheriting his father’s faith. Let’s pray for the spirit of Elijah to fall upon the churches of Japan
