1) I think Saul was killed by an Amalekite as recorded in 2 Sam 1. His possessing Saul’s crown and armlet add credence to his story.
2) Some records in the Bible are based on partial information and may not be the complete truth! So we shouldn’t jump to conclusions before gathering all the information we can and then come up with a conclusion!

Devotion 2 of 2: 1 Chron 11
David’s mighty men were very impressive! Two killed 300 enemy soldiers in one battle (v.11, 20)! There was no army on earth who could match them! But the amazing thing is that at the beginning, they were part of the 3 D’s (In Distress, in Debt, and Discontented) who gathered to David at the Cave of Abdullam (v.15, 1 Chron 12:1, 1 Sam 22). So they were weaklings and failures in life! But they decided to join with David, and, by fellowshipping, eating, and training with David, they began to be transformed from “I can’t do it” mentality to “Through God, I can do all things” thinking! Let’s fellowship with our David, Jesus, and be transformed into the Last Day Army who will defeat Satan and win the world for Christ!
