Devotion 2 of 2: Matt 20
After Jesus told the disciples that he would be mocked, flogged and crucified, before being raised up (v.19), John and James’ mother asked for her sons to be seated at Jesus’ right and left in the kingdom (v.21)! This started an argument among the disciples about who was the greatest among them (v.24-28)! The disciples were still immature in many ways, but Jesus poured out the Holy Spirit upon them in Acts 2 and transformed them mightily to become the 1st century revival church that spread the gospel to the world!
