1) His house = 13 years (v.1), the Temple = 7 years (6:38).
2) Solomon spent more years building his own house than on the Temple, showing where his priorities were!

Devotion 2 of 2: 1 Kings 8
When the Ark of the Covenant was placed in the Holy Place of the Temple, a cloud of God’s presence and glory filled the Temple so that the priests could not stand up and minister (v.10-11)! This is the goal of the LDC! And the recent Asbury University revival was an example of this goal! When God’s presence came down to Asbury University, crowds of people gathered, some from foreign countries! At the peak, 20,000 hungry people filled several halls because they wanted to be in God’s presence! Let’s seek God’s presence upon our services!
