Devotion 1 of 2: 1 Pet 3

1) There are limits.
2) If he: commits DV, habitually breaks the law, doesn’t work to provide for the family, is unfaithful and doesn’t repent, often doesn’t come back home for no reason, etc.

1) Where do the bodies and spirits of all people, both saved and unsaved, go to after death (Eccl 12:7)? Bodies: _________ Spirits: _________ (I believe that the spirits of all people, whether saved or unsaved, are pure, and that’s why they return to God.)
2) When he died, who did Jesus speak to (3:19)? _______ in ________
3) When did these people live (3:20)? In the _________ of _________
I believe these spirits were stopped from returning to God because of something that happened to them before they died that happened only once on a massive scale in history, and it must have contaminated them. So they needed to be cleansed from the contamination before they could return to God, and that’s why they were in “prison.”

Devotion 2 of 2: Jer 47

Before Pharaoh struck Gaza, Babylon from the north had swept in like an overflowing torrent (v.2). So the small kingdom of Philistine was caught between 2 superpowers and torn apart by their armies (v.4)! This is similar to many small countries today who are caught between Russia and China on one side and the US and EU on the other. These countries’ leaders need wisdom to navigate foreign diplomacy successfully, but most of all they need a spiritual awakening in their nation to save many souls!
