Devotion 1 of 2: Jer 43
1) They said Jeremiah was lying and God had not sent him to say don’t go to Egypt (v.2). They even said that believing Jeremiah would cause them to be handed over to Neb to be killed or captured (v.3)! So they went to Egypt in order to escape from Neb and death (v.3, 5).
2) It could symbolize the LDC warning the church that she will face AC and should prepare for it, not try to escape from it (one example of escape: through pre-trib rapture teaching). Their reaction could symbolize that the church will reject the LDC’s warning because they think it would lead to them being killed by AC.

Devotion 2 of 2: Rom 15
What was Paul’s ministry like? Why was he so effective in spreading the gospel and leading many souls to Christ and establishing so many churches? The reason can be found in v.18-19: By word and deed, by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God! When the Word of God is preached with the power of the Holy Spirit doing genuine miracles, many people will be won to Christ! Let’s seek for the Holy Spirit’s works, not ours, to come forth through us!
