Devotion 1 of 1: 2 Sam 13
1) He raped Tamar, his half-sister (v.14).
2) Amnon didn’t have true love for Tamar; he had only lust. So after satisfying his lust, he hated her.
3) Absalom killed Amnon (v.29) to avenge Tamar, who was his full sister (v.22).
4) David heard that Absalom had killed all of his sons (v.30). Oftentimes rumors are not accurate, so we must be wise and listen to the whole story before jumping to conclusions.
2 Sam 14 answer: 1) I don’t agree.
2) Because Absalom didn’t really repent, so his reconciliation with his father David was not genuine (v.24). This is proven later on when Absalom tries to usurp the throne from David (15:1-10)!
