Devotion 1 of 2: Mark 5

1) A) He lived among the tombs, signifying death (v.2).
B) He was shackled but broke free (v.4).
2) He worshiped Jesus (v.6). He knew Jesus was the Son of God (v.7). He knew Jesus had authority over the demons (v.7). John 14:12 believers will have the same authority over evil spirits!
3) By commanding the demons to leave, and they obeyed (v.13)!
4) I think because swine were unclean to Jews and couldn’t be eaten, so if the owners were Jews, they were violating the law. If they were Gentiles, they may have been selling pork to Jews, which would have been unlawful also!

Devotion 2 of 2: Ps 124

I believe this psalm can be applied to the tribulation time when antichrist will persecute the church. If the Lord was not on our side, they would have swallowed us alive (v.2), the waters would have overwhelmed us (v.4), the swollen waters would have gone over our soul (v.5)! But the Lord delivered us so we could escape as a bird from the snare of the fowlers (v.7)! Although antichrist will arrest us, God will enable us to escape from his snare! What a wonderful God we serve!
