Things didn’t work out well for Moses because pharaoh ordered the Jews to make the same amount of bricks without giving them straw as before (v.18), and this turned the Jews against Moses (v.21)!

When Moses said he spoke with faltering lips (v.12), I don’t think it meant he couldn’t speak well because Stephen said in Acts 7:22 that “Moses…was mighty in words and deeds!” Rather, I think Moses meant he couldn’t speak the Egyptian language fluently anymore as he had not spoken it for 40 years, while he lived in Midian!
