Devotion 1 of 2: Job 18

Here are the devotional questions you can answer for Sat, 2/12. Job 18 question: Instead of comforting Job, Bildad, Job’s 2nd friend, speaks harsh words to him! According to v.2, what is his purpose and what is he trying to make Job understand?

Here is my devotions for Sat, 2/12. Job 18 answer: The purpose of Bildad in talking to Job is to try to make him gain understanding (v.2)! What he is trying to make Job understand is that Job is wicked (v.5, 21), and he committed sin, and that’s why terrible things are happening to him (v.5-21).

Devotion 2 of 2: Matt 18

One lesson I learned from v.6-9 is how seriously God looks at the sin of offense! Jesus uses illustrations of drowning, cutting off a hand or foot, or gouging out an eye would be better than causing someone to stumble! So I should avoid offending people at all cost! And one lesson I learned from v.21-35 is how seriously God looks at unforgiveness! If I don’t forgive others, God won’t forgive me! So I want to live a life of always forgiving others for any sin they might commit against me.
