Devotion 1 of 2: Job 3
In chapters 1 and 2, Job was almost perfect, never acting in the flesh or sinning with his words, despite the terrible tragedies he went through. But in 3:1, he curses the day of his birth! Then he says many other negative things. So this chapter begins to show us the anger, frustration and doubts that he felt because of the tragedies that happened to him. The story of Job shows us how Job finally overcomes these negative feelings that we all experience when we go through trials, so this book has important lessons for us!

Devotion 2 of 2: Matt 3
The purpose of John’s ministry was to prepare Israel for Jesus’ coming and to introduce Jesus. He performed his ministry very well by warning the people of the coming wrath (v.7 - fulfilled in the destruction of Jerusalem and scattering of Jews in 70AD), leading them to repentance and baptism (v.8, 5-6), and introducing Jesus as the Lord (v.3), the baptizer in the Holy Spirit (v.11) and the Son of God (v.17)!
