Devotion 1 of 2: Job 2
Satan tested Job by striking him with painful boils (v.7). Job responded by refusing to curse God like his wife urged; so he didn’t sin with his lips (9-10). Application: When I was about 45-50 years old, I experienced many boils on my face. It was painful and made it very hard to shave. I prayed for healing many times, but I sometimes complained about them, too! After 2 or 3 years, they finally disappeared! Maybe if I had not complained but prayed more, they would have healed more quickly!

Devotion 2 of 2: Matt 2
Some ways God can communicate as seen in Matt 1 are: 1) Through nature, using the star to guide the wise men (v.2, 9). 2) Through the Bible, showing the priests where the king of the Jews would be born (v.5-6). 3) Through dreams, warning of danger to the wise men (v.12) and to Joseph (v.22). 4) Through angels and dreams, giving directions to Joseph (v.13, 19-20). Application: Once I was very angry at a man and could not sleep for 3-4 hours because of that anger! Suddenly, God spoke clearly to my heart to forgive him! When I finally obeyed and forgave him, I fell asleep!
