Devotion 1 of 2: Isa 29
This chapter describes God’s judgment against Jerusalem in v.1-4, then offers some protection in v.5-8, but returns to judgment in v.9-16. In the end, God mercifully gives a promise of restoration in v.17-24! Praise God!
This is a common pattern seen in the prophets—warnings of judgment for Israel’s sins, then a promise of restoration at the end. Let’s pray that Israel’s last restoration will be completed at Christ’s 2nd coming!

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Cor 5
Two strong motivating factors compelled Paul to preach the gospel—the terror of the Lord (v.11) and the love of Christ (v.14)!
The terror of the Lord will be revealed at the Great White Throne Judgment (Rev 20:11-15), where mankind will be judged by their sinful acts, and those who rejected God’s love and salvation will be cast into the lake of fire.
The love of Christ for the Jews filled Paul’s heart so much that he was willing to give up his salvation in exchange for the Jews getting saved (Rom 9:3).
Let’s pray that the awfulness of the reality of the lake of fire will be so strong in us that we, too, like Paul would be powerfully motivated to preach to AMAP to lead people to Christ! And let’s pray that Jesus’ love will so overwhelm us that we would be willing give our lives to save the people we witness to!
