Devotion 1 of 2: Isa 28
I believe v.11-12 are a prophecy about both the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2 and the Azusa St. Revival in 1906. It says, ‘For with stammering lips and another tongue He will speak to this people, to whom He said, “This is the rest with which You may cause the weary to rest,” and, “This is the refreshing”; yet they would not hear.’
In both revivals, believers received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues. Through that experience, God was saying, “This is my rest,” because when we speak in tongues, our spirit speaks, but our mind doesn’t understand—it’s at rest! Our spirit, not our flesh, nor our mind is speaking! Although 3,000 believed in Jesus in Acts 2, in general the Jews rejected Christ and the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
At Azusa St., it was the same. Although many believed and received the power of the Holy Spirit, the general church rejected the Pentecostal Movement. So the prophecy in v.11-12 came to pass twice in church history. Let’s pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ that they will not reject but open their hearts to the Holy Spirit, because he will be essential for the church to overcome AC in the endtime!

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Cor 4
Paul went through terrible persecutions and suffering for the gospel (v.8-12). But he was able to survive and overcome because he understood the treasure, the excellence of God’s power, and the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ that was in him (v.4, 7-10)!
In order for us to overcome persecutions, let us, too, seek God so we will realize the greatness of God’s calling upon us! We are called to become the bride of Christ, the fully restored glorious, revival church of the last days, and the workers in the greatest harvest in history at the end of time!
