Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 33
V.1-3 commands all righteous people (whose sins have been forgiven!) to rejoice by praising!
But sometimes we might think, “I can’t play any instruments and don’t have musical talent, so these verses don’t apply to me.” But v.2b encourages us because it says, “Make melody to Him with an instrument of 10 strings.” I believe the instrument of 10 strings is our hands with 10 fingers! And anyone can play that instrument by clapping! So we are all musicians, even though some of us don’t have exceptional talent!
And for those who are gifted, v.3b says, “Play skillfully with a shout of joy.” So instruments should be played skillfully by skillful musicians, but we can all participate in praise by using our 10-string instruments! PTL!

Devotion 2 of 2: Ps 34
Many years ago, my sister, Esther, was inspired by the Holy Spirit to make a worship song using v.1-4. It became popular and was sung by many Christians in many countries.
I believe one reason why it was popular was because it is so encouraging! It reminds us that if we seek the Lord, he will save us from all our troubles (v.4)! Let’s remember this psalm when we face troubles!
