Devotion 1 of 2: Num 19

NUM 19: Answers!
1) The sacrifice used was a red heifer without blemish (v.2). Jesus was our sacrifice for sin, and he was without sin!
2) The blood of the heifer was sprinkled 7 times in front of the tabernacle of meeting (Holy Place) as part of the ceremony for purification. Jesus’ blood was shed at Calvary to purify us of our sins! PTL!

Devotion 2 of 2: Num 20

NUM 20: Answers! (2/2)
1) Yes
2) Israel’s complaining was not good, but in order to fill their need of water (v.5b), God told Moses to take his rod and speak to the rock and water would flow out (v.8).
This is a picture of how Jesus died on Calvary to provide the water of life to meet the need of mankind’s thirst for meaning in life (John 4:14). But Moses sinned by hitting the rock twice with his rod (v.11). God still provided the water but punished Moses by not allowing him to enter Canaan (v.12).
Also, I think hitting the rock twice speaks of sending Jesus to the cross twice to become the sacrifice for our sins, which God will never permit! Jesus died only once to save mankind (Heb 9:28; 1 Pet 3:18; Rom 610)!
