Devotion 1 of 2: Lev 25
1) The Sabbath year was the 7th year. God commanded Israel to work the land for 6 years and eat its crop and fruits, but to give land rest in the 7th year, the Sabbath year.
Spiritual lesson: The Sabbath year was a prophetic picture of the NT teaching of grace, not depending on works but on God. In order to rest on the Sabbath year, Israel had to depend on God, not their works, to take care of their needs. And God did increase their 6th year harvest to cover their needs for the Sabbath year (v.20-21)!

Devotion 2 of 2: Acts 25
(3/3)
While under arrest in Caesarea, Paul boldly testified about Jesus to 3 rulers: Felix, appointed by Rome as governor over Judea (Acts 24:10-21); Festus, who replaced him (25:13-21); and King Agrippa, who was King Herod the Great’s grandson (26:1-29). In this way, he fulfilled the prophecy given to him by Ananias in Acts 9:15-16, soon after his conversion.
Jesus prophesied in the last days we would testify before kings and rulers, too (Luke 21:12-15)! Let’s be bold like Paul and preach to kings to lead them to Christ!
