1) Early rain = Outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2, and Latter rain = Outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Azusa Street in 1906 (v.7).
2) Rain produces the precious fruit of the earth (v.7). Spiritually, this speaks of a harvest of souls!

Devotion 2 of 2: Lam 4
One of Judah’s great sins was shedding the blood of the just (v.13-14). I believe this primarily means the blood of babies, who were sacrificed to pagan gods. And it was prophets and priests who were involved in this horrendous practice (v.13)! So God punished Judah by allowing Babylon to destroy their kingdom and Jerusalem! Nebuchadnezzar laid siege to the city and cut off all food supplies to starve the Jews. In the end, they ended up eating the babies (v.10) that they had been sacrificing to idols! In the tribulation, there will be horrible punishment for mankind for repeating the sin of infanticide through abortion.
