Devotion 1 of 1: Luke 3
1) John was very bold and straightforward in his approach to ungodly people. He wasn’t afraid of using strong language in denouncing people’s sins (v.7-9).
2) John rebuked Herod for many evils, including divorcing his wife and marrying his brother Philip’s wife, Herodias, after they divorced (v.19)! His personality of talking strongly about people’s, even kings’, wrongdoings contributed to Herod getting angry and imprisoning him and also Herodias demanding his head be cut off (Mark 6:19-28)!
