Devotion 1 of 2: Luke 4
1) Because a prophet is not accepted in his hometown (v.24). Also, Jesus told them that Elijah was sent to a Gentile, not to a Jewish widow (v.25-26), and Elisha healed the Gentile leper Naaman, not any of the many Jewish lepers (v.27)! They realized Jesus was telling them that God was going to bless Gentiles, not the Jews, so they became enraqged!

Devotion 2 of 2: Prov 4
V.7 says that wisdom is the principal thing; therefore we should get wisdom, and while we are at it, we should also get understanding. Understanding is so important. I want to understand many things, like: God, his plan for mankind and the church, people, problems so I can solve them, how to bring revival to Japan, how to heal diseases, how to build churches, how to win the lost, etc.
