Devotion 1 of 2: 2 Chron 19

One important lesson we can learn from Jehoshaphat is how to react when rebuked by contrasting him with King Asa in 2 Chron 16. Because Jehoshaphat went to war with King Ahab, the worst king in Israel’s history, Jehu reprimanded him in v.2! It seems like Jehoshaphat didn’t react with anger but instead used the rebuke for good and worked even harder to make Judah a righteous nation (v.4-11)! In contrast, when Asa was rebuked by Hanani, Jehu’s father, he reacted in anger, imprisoned Hanani and treated his people cruelly (2 Chron 16:10). The result of their actions was that Asa died suffering from a severe foot disease in 16:11-14, while Jehoshaphat won a miraculous victory over his enemies in chapter 20!

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Chron 20

1) In the battle between Judah and 3 nations (v.10), singers went in front of the army (v.21), and when they began to praise, the enemy was routed (v.22)! This story shows the awesome power in praise to defeat our enemies!
2) I lost my keys for a few days, but instead of getting upset, I praised God, believing God would help me find them, and he did! PTL!
