Devotion 1 of 2: Ezek 6
What I found noteworthy was that the altars Judah used in their idolatry would be smashed, and the Jews would be killed before their idols (v.5). Thus they were shown the result of their rebellion against God. While many of them never showed remorse for their sins, there were some who repented and vowed to follow God. Later, their descendants became part of the Jews who returned from Babylon and helped to restore their nation.

Devotion 2 of 2: Matt 6
What is striking in this chapter is Jesus’ emphasis on the inner motive of our actions. Some examples:
v.1 Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them.
v.7 When you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
v.16 When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, to show others they are fasting.
In the kingdom of God, what is important is to please God, not to impress men!
