Devotion 1 of 2: Mark 11
1) Because the term, “Son of David,” referred to the Messiah who was to be a descendant of David, and the crowd was using it for Jesus, but the chief priests and scribes didn’t believe Jesus was the Messiah, so they thought it was sacrilegious, and they were outraged.
2) The fig tree symbolized Israel. Jesus wanted fruits of repentance and faith from them, but they didn’t give those fruits, so they were cut off as the people of God.
3) Because they were cheating the people by selling the animals for a high price.

Devotion 2 of 2: Ps 130
V.3 says if God marked sins, no one could stand before him! The Bible is an honest book. It records, not only the good things that the men and women of God did, but their bad things also! Yet, if they repented, God forgave them and then used them for mighty exploits! As v.7 says, hope in the Lord, for with him there is mercy!
