Devotion 1 of 2: 2 John 1
V.7 says that antichrists are deceivers who don’t acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This describes the spirit of antichrist. Not acknowledging Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh means not recognizing that Jesus is the Son of God in human form, that he came from heaven and that he is the Messiah, the Savior of the world. The spirit of antichrist also includes opposing Christ. Based on this, I believe Islam will play an important part in the antichrist-false prophet coalition of the last days. Islam is the world’s fastest growing religion, has killed many people, including many Christians throughout its history, and believes Mohammed was the greatest prophet, making them a strong candidate for the false prophet part of the coalition.

Devotion 2 of 2: Ps 101
David wrote this psalm, expressing very high moral standards for his kingdom. Because corruption and moral failure are common among political leaders, a high standard is certainly necessary. I think moral corruption in the top leader in Russia has resulted in their army’s disastrous record in the Ukraine War so far. Many of their soldiers are totally corrupt, torturing and murdering thousands of Ukrainian civilians! After initial seeming successes, they are now suffering huge defeats. Their soldiers don’t have food or winter clothes, so they are dying in the freezing cold, and are being killed by the thousands! Many soldiers are deserting rather than suffer such unbearable conditions! Let’s pray for a high moral standard for Japan’s political leaders as well our church leaders!
