Devotion 1 of 2: Deut 23

1) Balaam was a prophet hired by King Balak of Moab to curse Israel (Num 22:4-6) and spiritually represents the curses that Satan tries to put upon God’s people. 2) Balaam tried to curse Israel 4 times (Num 23:7-10, 18-24; 24:3-9, 15-19), but God turned them all into blessings! 3) The spiritual lesson we can learn is that Satan tries to curse us, but through the cross, Jesus has turned the curses of Satan into blessings (Gal 3:13-14).

Devotion 2 of 2: Rom 7

Paul struggled with sin because sin lived in him (v.17), and he had a sinful nature (v.18). So, even though he wanted to do good, he couldn’t, and the evil he didn’t want to do, he did (v.19). Jesus helped him by dying for his sins and completely forgiving him. By believing this, Paul was released from his sins and could walk in victory!
