Devotion 1 of 2: Eccl 7
I would like to point out 3 places and how they applied to Solomon. 1) v.21: Solomon’s servants likely disliked and cursed him because of his poor leadership, indulging more in his wives and pleasures than in just governance.
2) v.23: God gave Solomon great wisdom, but he made many decision that proved to be foolish, like taking 1000 wives who lured him to worship their pagan idols! 3) v.26-28: Solomon had 1000 wives, but not one was pure. They all had snares and nets in their hearts with which to trap him. Let’s seek God’s wisdom, not man’s!

3つの箇所を取り上げ、それらがソロモンにどのように当てはまるかを指摘したい。1) 21節：ソロモンのしもべたちは、彼が公正な政治よりも妻たちや快楽にふけり、指導力に欠けていたため、彼を嫌い、呪っていたのであろう。
2) 23節：神はソロモンに偉大な知恵をお与えになったが、彼は結果的に愚かとなる決定を多く下した。例えば、彼を誘惑して異教の偶像を礼拝させた、1000人もの妻をめとったことなどである。 3) 26-28節：ソロモンには1000人の妻がいたが、純粋な者は一人もいなかった。彼女たちの心の中にはみな、彼を捕らえるための罠や網であった。人間の知恵ではなく、神の知恵を求めよう。
Devotion 2 of 2: John 7
This chapter describes the conflict among the Jews of whether Jesus was the Christ or not. Many of the Jews believed He was the Christ because of the signs He did (v.31).
But others rejected Jesus as the Christ for contradictory reasons: They knew Jesus was from Galilee but could not be the Christ because no one would know where the Christ was from (v.27). However, in v.41-42, they said the opposite thing, that, as the seed of David, the Christ would have to come from Bethlehem!
Let’s seek the correct understanding of Scripture!
デボーション2/2：ヨハネ7章
この章では、イエスがキリストであるかどうかをめぐるユダヤ人たちの間の対立について述べられている。イエスが行われたしるしのゆえに、多くのユダヤ人がイエスをキリストと信じた（31節）。
しかし、ほかの者たちは矛盾した理由からイエスをキリストとして拒絶した。すなわち、彼らはイエスがガリラヤ出身であることを知っていたが、キリストが出身地を誰にも知られずに現れるはずであるため、イエスはキリストであり得ないと考えたのである（27節）。ところが、41-42節において、彼らはそれとは正反対のことを言い、キリストはダビデの子孫としてベツレヘムから出なければならないと主張した。
