Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 18
Bible commentary says David wrote this psalm when he was saved from Saul. In v.48, David wrote, “He delivers me from my enemies. You also lift me up above those who rise against me; You have delivered me from the violent man” (v.48). Saul was violent in his attempts to kill David using spear or sword, but God protected him!
As violence ran amok in Noah’s day, so it is running wild in today’s society! And modern technologies, like movies, TV, internet, etc., have promoted violence’s rapid spread! Let’s pray for salvation for victims of violence!

聖書注解によると、ダビデはこの詩篇をサウルから救われた時に書いたとされています。48節でダビデはこう書いています。「神は、私の敵から私を助け出される方。まことに、あなたは私に立ち向かう者から私を引き上げ、暴虐の者から私を救い出されます。」（48節）サウルは槍や剣を使ってダビデを殺そうとしましたが、神は彼を守ったのです！
ノアの時代に暴力が蔓延したように、現代社会でも暴力は猛威を振るっています。映画、テレビ、インターネットなどの現代技術は、暴力の急速な拡散を助長しています。暴力の犠牲者たちの救いのために祈りましょう。

Devotion 2 of 2: Rom 2
V.28-29 say, “For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter...” This verse changed the “Age of Law and Israel” into the “Age of Grace and Spiritual Israel”!
Because of this change, we no longer worship on Saturdays but Sundays, or any other day that is beneficial (Friday in Muslim countries where it’s a holiday). So, today let’s seek, not the Law, but a spiritual relationship with God.

28-29節にはこうあります。「外見上のユダヤ人がユダヤ人なのではなく、外見上のからだの割礼が割礼なのではありません。かえって人目に隠れたユダヤ人がユダヤ人であり、文字ではなく、御霊による、心の割礼こそ割礼です･･･」。この聖句は、「律法とイスラエルの時代」を、「恵みと霊的なイスラエルの時代」へと変えました。
この変化により、私たちはもはや土曜日ではなく、日曜日、あるいはその他の有益な日（イスラム教国では祝日である金曜日）に礼拝を行うようになりました。ですから、今日、私たちは律法ではなく、神との霊的な関係を求めましょう。
