Devotion 1 of 2: Hos 5
V.3b says, “…O Ephraim, you commit harlotry; Israel is defiled.” What Gomer did in betraying Hosea and committing harlotry with other men was a picture of what Ephraim (Israel) did when they forsook Jehovah and bowed down to worship pagan idols.
God used Gomer’s unfaithfulness to Hosea to show Israel how unfaithful and shameful their behavior toward Him was. And when we place other things in this world above the Lord Jesus in our hearts, we should realize we commit the same harlotry as Israel did.
Let’s always keep Jesus as the most precious and prized treasure in our hearts and let all other things fade into darkness before His glorious light!

3節後半には、「しかし、エフライムよ、今、あなたは姦淫をし、イスラエルは身を汚してしまった」とあります。ゴメルがホセアを裏切り、他の男たちと淫行を犯したことは、エフライム（イスラエル）がエホバを捨て、異教の偶像を拝んだときの行いを象徴していました。
神はホセアに対するゴメルの不忠実さを通して、イスラエルが神に対していかに不忠実で恥ずべき行いをしていたかを示しました。そして、私たちは主イエスよりも、この世のあらゆるものを心の中に優先させるとき、イスラエルと同じ淫行を犯していることを認識すべきです。
イエスを常に心の中で最も貴重で大切な宝として保ち、他のすべてのものを主の栄光の光の前に暗闇の中に消されて行くようにしましょう。
Devotion 2 of 2: John 5
V.1-15 tells the story of Jesus healing the lame man at the Pool of Bethesda. We also are called to heal people so let’s learn an important principle from this story. After Jesus healed the man, He warned him, “Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you” (v.14b).
Apparently, sin was the cause of this man’s illness. He was lame for 38 long years, so sin can produce terrible afflictions (v.5)! And Jesus warned him not to return to his sin or a worse fate would befall him (v.14)! When God leads, we, too, will have to warn people not to return to their old sinful ways for a terrible fate awaits them!
Let’s learn how to be a good minister and teach people about salvation, sanctification, healing, etc.
デボーション2/2：ヨハネ5章
1-15節は、ベテスダの池でイエスが足の不自由な人を癒した物語です。私たちも人々を癒すように召されているので、この物語から大切な原則を学びましょう。イエスはこの人を癒した後、こう警告されました。「もう罪を犯してはなりません。そうでないともっと悪い事があなたの身に起こるから。」（14節後半）。
この人の病気の原因は罪だったらしい。38年間も足が不自由だったことから、罪は恐ろしい患いをもたらす可能性があることが分かります（5節）。そしてイエスは、罪に戻ってはいけない、さもなければもっと悪い運命が降りかかると言われました（14節）。神が指示されるとき、人々に、過去の罪に戻ってはいけない、恐ろしい運命が待ち受けているからと警告しましょう。
良い働き手になる方法を学び、人々に救い、聖化、癒しなどについて指導しましょう。
