Devotion 1 of 2: Prov 30
V.28 says, “The spider skillfully grasps with its hands, and it is in kings’ palaces.” “The spider skillfully grasps with it hands” means it has the amazing ability to weave webs. And using this ability, the spider can make its home even in beautiful palaces!
Spiritual examples are Joseph, who was promoted to 2nd in authority under Pharaoh, because of his spiritual gift of interpreting dreams, and David, who served King Saul because of his natural ability to play the harp.
Spiritual application: By using our spiritual gifts or even natural talents, we will be able to stand before kings and rulers to testify of salvation in Christ (Luke 21:12-15).

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 John 1
Some things to observe about this epistle: “Elder” (v1) refers to John. “Elder” can mean one of the 5-fold ministry of Eph 4:11, or it can mean a mature believer in the local church who cares for the sheep along with the pastor.
“Elect lady and her children” (v.1) can mean a lady pastor and her church members or the whole church (bride of Christ) and its believers. If it’s a lady pastor, “house” in v.10 probably means she pastored a house church. If that’s true, then v.10 is warning us not to receive the deceivers of v.7-9 into the church because their evil will spread.
